DSE Training FAQs

The DSE regulations require that every DSE user is given training to minimise the risk of physical, visual and mental discomfort. Training will need to cover all aspects of the workstation to ensure the DSE user is working safely and ergonomically. This includes how to set up and adjust the display screen equipment so that it is correct for the individual. The training should also include the DSE users responsibilities and the risks that working with DSE can pose- such as MSDs.
A DSE Assessment is needed BOTH at the office as well as at home for hybrid workers
DSE assessments are recommended to be carried out annually.
A DSE assessment should be undertaken by all new employees when they start work.
A new assessment is needed when there has been a change to the workstation, equipment or environment, for example when a user has moved workstation.
